The party season is almost upon us, which means ample opportunity for glitz and glam. And if a last-minute invitation comes along, no panic. Take heed of our fashion tips and you can be ready for a night out at the drop of a Santa hat.
Be Ready for a Party at a Moment’s Notice
Aside from official work functions and major New Year’s Eve celebrations, December is packed with spur-of-the-moment nights out – so real glamour girls will need to be prepared to be party-perfect at any moment.

It seems that, as soon as November ends, we slip into end of year party mode and it’s any excuse for a night out. Colleagues are suddenly up for after-work drinks any night of the week, old friends reappear and are keen to join you for a few seasonal drinks and the good old festive spirit makes Tuesday night dance-athons seem like a good idea.
While this is all good news for social butterflies, it can mean panic stations if the call for a night out comes while we are stuck in the office, dressed in a less-than-glam getup. With a few simple party preparations, however, you can go from daytime sleek to night time glam in a moment. Womens going out tops needn’t be too glitzy for the office – a simple black cami or vest can look sleek with a pencil skirt, jacket and flats for the office – and chic when paired up with killer heels and some sparkly accessories for a night time look.
From Office to Night Out
When December rolls around, you will need to start getting your emergency party wardrobe ready. Accessories are key here – have a stash of them to hand and you can go from drab to fab in an instant. It pays to keep a selection of your favourite earrings, necklaces, bracelets and other key pieces to hand at work or college, along with a makeup bag filled with all those essentials that help us feel ready to hit the town – eyelash curlers, blush, bronzers, eye-shadow, lipstick and gloss – keep it all to hand, along with some extra help in the form of dry shampoo (great for reviving tired hair post-work) and even portable hair straightners should your hair be prone to misbehaving as the day draws on. Keep a couple of favourite pairs of heels stashed at work, too, in order to slip into them should a party call come in at the last minute. Womens going out tops tend to be small and portable, so have a favourite party top ready in your desk drawer.
Prepare your Day Wardrobe with a Night Out in Mind
Have a possible night out planned when planning your daytime look, too. Womens going out dresses needn’t be so low cut, glittery or otherwise unsuitable for the workplace. A simple black wrap dress can be worn with a jacket and knee high leather boots for a daytime look that is as sleek as it is sophisticated and is really easy to glam up after-hours with the help of some chunky accessories and a little extra make up. Similarly, a pair of slim cut black trousers worn with flats and a vest worn with a sweater or cardigan are fine for work and play – simply add heels, make-up and jewellery (and ditch the cardi or sweater) and you will be ready to party in no time flat.
